Geography!!!

The Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation is a branch of the larger group of Shoshone people that traditionally lived in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada. Shoshone people were very mobile and skilled at hunting and gathering. They fish and hunt buffalo, elk, deer, moose and antelope. They sun drie meat for food during the winter and they used animal hides as shelter and clothing. Climate and landscape vary because of the different locations of the tribes. Some neighboring tribes are the Gosiute and the Utes. The Shoshone are enemies of the blackfoot people and white settlers. Mormons settle in the Salt Lake Valley and spread into the Weber and Cache Valleys, entering Shoshone lands and they fought for vital resources. Conflict between Shoshones, emigrants, and white settlers also became a serious problem in the late 1850s. The Shoshone have an alliance with the Norther Arapaho Tribe on the Wind River Reservation .
